Welcome to the Department of Radiology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
Radiology services by our Department are offered at many sites, including Jackson Memorial Hospital (JMH), the University of Miami Hospital and Clinics/Sylvester Cancer Center (UMHC/SCCC), the University of Miami Hospital (UMH), Kendall Imaging Center, the Applebaum MR Center, the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, and the Sylvester Cancer Center at Deerfield Beach.
The Department is divided into specialty areas within Radiology, including Chest/Cardiac Radiology, Body Imaging, Breast Imaging/Mammography, Musculoskeletal Radiology, Neuroradiology, Nuclear Medicine, Pediatric Radiology, ER/Trauma Radiology, and Vascular/Interventional Radiology. Within each section are specialty trained radiologists who interpret and supervise all imaging studies and provide consultative services to the clinical staff at the Medical Center.
As you will read, the Department has an active and highly regarded Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program with ten residents per year for the four year program and has special fellowship training in Vascular/Interventional Radiology, Neuroradiology, and Nuclear Medicine. All training programs are fully accredited by the ACGME.
Basic and clinical research plays an important role in our Department with seven PhD faculty members, a small bore animal magnet, and a high field strength research/clinical magnet (3T). Funding through grants, from the NIH and from clinical protocols, places the Department as an important imaging research center and one of the more highly research supported centers in the Southeastern United States.
Thank you for visiting our site, and we trust you will find the information about our clinical, research, and education opportunities that you seek.
